Seva Counselling

Online Help

Online Consultations

Welcome! You have the chance to get safe and effective help for your mental health struggles right now. To get started, all you’ve got to do is click the button below to send me an email.

There’s a reason I offer a 15-minute “vibe check” to see whether online therapy feels right for you and for you to make sure I’m not a total doofus.

Seva Counselling is a mindfulness-based psychotherapy practice offering in-person as well as telehealth services for people wanting to make tangible change in their lives.

I specialise in relationship, trauma and crisis work especially involving anxiety, depression and loss of purpose, as well as counselling services for parents and teens, men’s work, and integrating mindfulness practices and meditation for everyday quality of life.
Online Consultation for mindfulness-based psychotherapy
I chose the name “Seva” because it’s the Sanskrit word for “service”. And the best and most effective service for people experiencing hardship is to bring a fiercely honest and tender approach to healing the wounds of the heart.

But if you need a sales pitch, that’s not what I’m here for.

I can help, no matter how great the obstacles seem – especially if right now, things seem really tough.

But there’s no magic wands here. If you’re lost in the jungle of your own unhelpful ways of thinking, I can point towards a way out – but you’re the one who has to do the walking (and the work).

So you can click that button I mentioned and send me an email and we can get started.

Still here?

At first, I was sceptical too about the effectiveness of online therapy compared to in-person appointments, but those concerns were pretty much dispelled once I started working with a few of my regulars during lockdowns.

I also continued my own ongoing psychotherapy via FaceTime and Zoom during the lows of 2020-22 and found I was actually impressed at the intimacy fostered in the digital space – impressed as well as surprised, but also reassured.

Seva Counselling online consultations run almost exactly the same as in-person sessions except they allow both of us to be in the comfort of our own spaces and anywhere in the world while doing this work.

Again, despite my initial concerns, even the more mindful and somatic aspects of my approach to working with clients to support and foster greater awareness, peace and clarity are easily facilitated in the online space.

Good lighting, preparation and being comfortable are important to support the effectiveness of any sessions.

I ask clients to prepare their space ahead of the online consultation session and ideally give themselves 10 minutes prior to the start of the appointment to “get in the zone”. That includes getting free of distractions, interruptions and commitments wherever possible.

Ironically, also getting off the phone and internet ahead of the session is best.

The idea behind mindfulness-based therapy is to come back into the moment so we can better connect to ourselves. In that openness, we can already start to find the peace that is already there.

The core focus of this work is not to “change ourselves” so that we can become more peaceful, but instead change our perceptions to make space for the deep peace that is already available to us.

Obviously, working parents and others with challenging circumstances don’t always have the luxury of clearing the decks before a session and we will work together to make it work.

Frequently Asked Questions About
Online Therapy

Yes. Research shows that online therapy is just as effective as face-to-face sessions for many people, especially when using a secure, structured platform, and working with a trained and empathic professional.

You’ll need a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a stable internet connection and a private space for your session. I use secure video platforms such as Zoom and WhatsApp to ensure confidentiality.

Part of the online counselling and psychotherapy experience includes my support with technical set-up when needed. In truth, secure online platforms like Zoom and WhatsApp are very easy to set-up and use these days.

Absolutely. Online therapy works for individuals, couples, and parent coaching sessions, providing the same support and guidance as in-person counselling.

It depends on your goals. Some clients notice positive changes in a few sessions, while others prefer ongoing support for deeper growth and development.

Not at all. Online therapy is for anyone seeking personal development, support through life transitions, stress management, or improved relationships.
